Agilent: New Clamp Meters

Agilent Technologies Inc. introduced the U1210 series handheld clamp meters, with up to 1000 A of high-current measurement capability for cables up to 2 inches in diameter. Agilent also announced an updated range of handheld instruments clad in vivid orange to highlight the company's commitment to user safety. The bright color provides greater visibility and is in line with conventional color coding that indicates caution; in typical industrial settings.

To provide greater safety protection for engineers and technicians working with high voltages and currents, the Agilent U1240B and U1250B series digital multimeters (DMMs) and U1210A clamp meters carry CAT III 1000 V, CAT IV 600 V safety ratings. The DMMs are certified to IEC 61010 and CSA standards and have passed additional high voltage (hipot) tests that exceed the standards.

In addition, Agilent's handheld DMMs and U1210A clamp meters include 4-mm-tip probes. The reduction in the length of the exposed tip is especially important in CAT IV environments, and the additional insulation further prevents dangerous arc flash if the tips are inadvertently shorted together during probing. The U1240B and U1250B DMMs also include a 30 kA high energy fuse to further protect the user against violent fuse failures during high-current measurements.

For DMM users, the bright orange enclosures are meant to serve as a vivid reminder that they have an extra layer of protection against the unknown, said Ee Huei Sin, vice president and general manager of Agilent's Basic Instruments Division. For the other models, the bright color highlights investment protection through feature sets that go beyond those of typical handhelds and put our customers a step ahead in troubleshooting, maintenance and repair in electronic, electrical and industrial applications.

The Pan&Tilt devices can be used for multiple usage like computer-controlled positioning of lasers, microwave antennas, thermal cameras, video cameras, IP cameras, and more for harsh all weather environments.

    Directed Perception's pan & tilt devices offer high speed, precision, durability, and small form factors.     Laser vermogens/energie meters voor draadloze metingen

    Met de nieuwe Quasar Wireless Bluetooth Interface Module van Ophir kunt u nu in een handomdraai van uw laptop of PC een complete laservermogens/-energiemeter maken. Zonder kabels en compleet met een USB poort Bluetooth adapter en de krachtige USBI PC Software kunt u tot een afstand van >10 meter zeer nauwkeurige en betrouwbare optische vermogens- en energiemetingen uitvoeren.

    De Quasar Wireless Bluetooth Interface is in twee verschillende versies leverbaar. De stand-alone Quasar module kan aangesloten worden op alle smarthead meetkoppen van Ophir. Daarnaast kunnen de meeste thermische meetkoppen geleverd worden compleet met een Quasar module, die boven op de meetkop is gemonteerd. Er hoeft geen kabel meer aan uw meetopstelling te pas te komen.

    De optische vermogens/energiemeters van Ophir Optronics kunnen zonder probleem energie en vermogensmetingen uitvoeren van pJ en pW tot honderden Joules en duizenden Watts. Ophir levert op dit moment de meest nauwkeurige instrumenten voor het meten van laservermogens en –energieën.     Laser Safety Eyewear consists in most cases of two components: frame and filter.
    The legal requirements of the European laser safety standards EN 207/EN208 require that the frame has to withstand the same level of radiation as the filters (stability against laser radiation), that it has to prevent the laser beam from reaching the eyes from the sides (side protection) and that the filters form an inseparable unit with the frame. Therefore the "weaker" part determines the protection level of the whole system for the specified wavelength and operation mode.

    Silent Sentinel: Rugged PTZ thermal camera

    The Oculus Ti is a professional, vandal resistant, high speed continuous rotation PTZ dual head thermal camera. The camera offers thermal detection of intruders at long range, day or night, in any weather, with simultaneous optical video output for video verifi cation. As a thermal/ optical unit it can also be used to provide temperature indication of fi re or thermo graphic applications.

    As part of the Oculus range, the housing has been cast from aluminium which is then hard anodised and powder coated allowing the unit to be installed in harsh and challenging environments.

    Utilising Optical Incremental Encoders, Oculus can accurately pinpoint and maintain its position, automatically correcting itself should an external force cause the head to move.

    SRS Dual Channel Audio Analyzer

    BFi OPTiLAS introduceert van Stanford Research Systems de nieuwe SR1 Dual-Domain Audio Analyzer. In het hart van deze audio analyzer zit een high-performance analoge signaalgenerator. Alle standaard audio signalen zoals sinus, synchrone burst sinus, ruis etc. zijn beschikbaar. Daarnaast zijn geïntermoduleerde testsignalen, zoals SMPTE, CCIF en DIM en abitrary signalen zoals ASCII en WAV, standaard beschikbaar.

    Aangezien er tevens combinaties van deze verschillende testsignalen kunnen worden gemaakt bent u geheel flexibel. Deze flexibiliteit heeft geen enkele invloed op de kwaliteit van het signaal; een flatness van ±0.008 dB (20 Hz to 20 kHz) en een residual THD + N van -108 dB (20 Hz to 20 kHz).

    Met de complete set analyzers in de SR1 kan tegelijk aan analoge- als digitale audiosignalen worden gemeten. De SR1 bevat onder andere: • Een time domain detector voor het maken van alle standaard audio metingen zoals Amplitude, Crosstalk en THD+N. • De single channel en dual channel FFT analyzer. De dual channel FFT-Analyzer biedt ook de mogelijkheid voor single shot frequentie response metingen. Hierdoor wordt een ultieme nauwkeurigheid verkregen. • Een THD analyzer voor frequentie selectieve THD metingen waarbij tot aan de 13 harmonische van het ingangssignaal kan worden gemeten. Een IMD analyzer voor het maken van standaard metingen aan vervorming inclusief SMPTE, CCIF en DIM. • Een histogram analyzer, die histogrammen laat zien van de amplituden van het ingangsignaal met de daarbij behorende mogelijke vervormingen. • Een multitone analyzer, die in combinatie met de multitone generator kan worden gebruikt voor single shot metingen aan een tal van audio parameterers.

    De SR1 biedt tevens een complete set metingen om digitale interfaces te testen. Het draaggolfniveau en de sampling frequenties worden direct gemeten en de jitter analyzer meet jitter in zowel frequentie- als in tijddomein. Met slechts overgebleven jitter van 800 ps is de kwaliteit van de jitter analyzer ongeëvenaard.
    De dual channel audio analyzer draait op een Windows XP embedded besturingssysteem. Hierdoor is de gebruikers interface toegankelijk en is het mogelijk om het instrument volledig te automatiseren. U kunt voor uw test in het instrument zelf een script schrijven of met een willekeurig pakket als Visual Basic, LabView, Vee Pro, de SR1 programmeren.

    TREK: ESD Event Detector

    Diagnostic Tool for Manufacturing Environments Sensitive to Electrostatic Discharge - Including Electronics, Semiconductors & Medical Devices.

    BFi OPTiLAS, thanks to its collaboration with Trek, Inc. (a designer and manufacturer of high-performance electrostatic instrumentation and high-voltage power amplifiers), recently introduced the TREK Model 900 ESD Event Detector. This detector is a diagnostic tool for manufacturing environments that are sensitive to electrostatic discharge (ESD), including electronic, semiconductor & medical device manufacturing and assembly. Electrostatic discharge events are important indicators of excessive charge accumulation in a given environment. Such charge accumulation (electrostatic charging) can be detrimental to ESD-sensitive manufacturing and assembly processes such as those found in the semiconductor industry. ESD can also be a concern in the manufacture of electronics and other devices, including sensitive medical electronics, microelectronics, liquid crystal displays (LCDs), hard disk drives, microelectronic mechanical systems (MEMS), and in various sectors of the electronic manufacturing services (EMS) industry.

    Trek's ESD Event Detector is a diagnostic tool used to identify incidents of or verify suspected areas of ESD activity within a manufacturing site. A voltage-sensitive antenna on the unit can be positioned near potential problem areas (where electrostatic discharge is suspected) to monitor ESD events. Detection is conveyed via an audible buzzer and/or a visual color-coded light display which depicts intensity.

    By detecting ESD events, Model 900 serves to alert manufacturing engineers to the presence of potentially harmful (and invisible) electrostatic charging. Such identification is often the first step in managing ESD. Once alerted to its presence, action can be taken to rectify the situation and thereby improve overall efficiency, yield and productivity.

    Model 900 is compact, portable and is powered by batteries. A universal power adapter can be used for continuous AC line operation. Model 900 is also CE compliant. The technical design of the unit provides a wide spatial operating range with high sensitivity.

    Trek's Model 900 is designed for Charge Device Model (CDM) events which are becoming the major contributor to ESD failures, in connection with increases in the automation of manufacturing processes.
